10 Trapped in Sudden Falgu River Flood, All Rescued Safely in Gayaji

A sudden flood in Bihar’s Falgu River trapped 10 people sleeping under a bridge, but quick rescue efforts saved them all.

Gayaji: Heavy rains from the monsoon have started in many parts of Bihar, and on Thursday morning, a sudden flood in the Falgu River in Gaya caused panic. Ten people, who were sleeping under a six-lane bridge in the Mufassil police station area, got trapped when water from the river rose quickly. These people, mostly nomads, often sleep in the area during the summer.

As the water level rose, the trapped people began shouting for help. Locals nearby heard their screams and rushed to the spot. They quickly informed the authorities. Soon, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reached the location and started a rescue operation.

The rescue team worked fast. Some people were saved by using ropes, while others were brought out by swimming. The strong current made the task difficult, but the team managed to bring everyone out safely. No one was injured.

The timely help from the SDRF and local people saved lives. Authorities are now warning others to avoid sleeping or staying near riverbanks, especially during the monsoon season when water levels can rise suddenly and without warning.
