
Bihar: 10-year-old boy was stabbed to death by a 12-year-old during a quarrel over a game of cricket in Bihar’s West Champaran district, police confirmed. The incident took place in the Chanwari Sareh locality of Parsa Panchayat, under Majhaulia police station, near Bettiah. The accused child is reportedly absconding along with his family.
The victim identified as Laddu Kumar, had been called by the accused, Keshav Singh to a sugarcane field near Parsa railway station. According to local reports, an argument between the two boys escalated, ending with Keshav allegedly stabbing Laddu with a knife. By the time villagers arrived, Laddu had succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities said the two children had an ongoing rivalry, often clashing during local cricket games. Laddu, whose parents work in Tamil Nadu, lived in the village with his grandparents and was a student at a local school.
News of the incident sparked widespread anger in the village. Locals staged a protest, refusing to remove the body and demanding the immediate arrest of both the minor and his father. Demonstrators gathered outside the accused’s home, prompting a heavy police presence to maintain order.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Vivek Deep arrived at the scene and assured the villagers of action. The body was sent to Bettiah Government Medical College for postmortem examination. To prevent further unrest, authorities have launched a flag march and stationed police in the area.
