15 Arrested in Nawada Arson Incident Over Land Dispute

Nawada: After receiving information about houses being set on fire in Krishnanagar village under the Mufassil police station, Nawada Police acted swiftly, reaching the scene within 15-20 minutes on 18 September 2024. The fire was controlled with the help of the fire brigade, and the situation was brought under control by the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police.
A special police team was formed to apprehend those responsible, leading to the arrest of 15 individuals, including the main accused Nandu Paswan. Raids were conducted overnight, and country-made pistols along with cartridges were seized. Authorities have confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident.
The root cause of the arson is believed to be a long-standing land dispute dating back to 1995. The situation in the area remains peaceful, and further raids are ongoing to track down other suspects.
