15 Tonnes of Garbage Removed from Mangal Talab in Patna

Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation has launched a special initiative to clean and beautify the city’s ponds, using mechanized methods. Following the cleaning of the Ganga river, a focused campaign has begun to address the cleanliness of water bodies like Mangal Talab through trash skimmers.

Since December 25, Mangal Talab has been undergoing continuous cleaning under this initiative. So far, approximately 15 tonnes of garbage have been removed, contributing significantly to improving the pond’s condition. This campaign emphasizes the corporation’s commitment to ensuring that all water bodies in the city are cleaned regularly and systematically.

Efforts are also being made to clean the water at Ganga Ghats alongside the ponds. Mangal Talab is the starting point for this initiative, with plans to extend similar cleaning efforts to other zones in the city. The mechanized cleaning process aims to maintain the long-term cleanliness and usability of these vital water resources.

The corporation’s proactive approach is expected to improve the environmental and aesthetic quality of the ponds, enhancing their importance as natural and recreational resources for the city.
