22-Year-Old Woman in Patna’s Pandarak Dies by Suicide, Leaves Video Saying she was ‘Happily Giving Up her Life’

Patna: A 22-year-old woman from Patna, identified as Gudiya Kumari, died by suicide after recording a video message in which she said she had no issues with anyone and was “happily giving up” her life. The incident occurred late on Thursday in Baddupur village under the Pandarak police station jurisdiction.
According to initial reports, Gudiya had dinner with her family, watched a television serial, and later locked herself in her room. When she did not emerge the following morning, her family forced open the door and found her hanging from the ceiling fan. Police were immediately informed and reached the scene to begin their investigation.
The woman’s phone contained a 44-second video recorded before her death, in which she calmly stated that she had no complaints against her parents, in-laws, or husband. “I am giving my life happily. I don’t want to live anymore,” she said in the video, requesting forgiveness from her family.
Gudiya, originally from Batohara village in Sheikhpura, had married Santosh Kumar a year earlier. Santosh currently works in a private firm in Mumbai. Family members told police that she had been mentally stable and had no recent disputes. Her cousin Mithun Kumar noted that Gudiya had been preparing to attend her sister’s wedding scheduled for June 8, for which she had received an invitation just two days prior.
Pandarak police station head Sadhna Kumari confirmed there were no visible signs of family discord and that an investigation is ongoing. The body has been sent for postmortem.
