East Central Railway Operates 757 Special Trains for Mahakumbh-2025

Patna: In a bid to accommodate the influx of devotees traveling to Mahakumbh 2025, East Central Railway has so far operated a total of 757 special trains. These services have been deployed from various stations under its jurisdiction to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience.

Among these, 58 Kumbh special trains were operated from key stations, including 21 from Patna Junction, 20 from Gaya, four from Muzaffarpur, three from Jaynagar, two each from Darbhanga, Raxaul, Saharsa, and Dhanbad, and one each from Kiul and Barauni. Additionally, 85 special trains from other railway zones were routed via East Central Railway stations to Prayagraj.

To facilitate the return journey of pilgrims, 387 special trains were dispatched from Prayagraj and its surrounding stations to various destinations within the East Central Railway network. This included 111 trains to DDU, 78 to Gaya, 11 to Sasaram, 13 to Dhanbad, 42 to Patna, 34 to Danapur, and 31 to Buxar.

Given the significant number of devotees arriving at DDU station from Prayagraj, 227 additional Kumbh Mela special trains were arranged from DDU to various destinations. This comprised 100 trains to Gaya, 38 to Danapur, 69 to Buxar, and eight to Patna, among others.

With Mahakumbh 2025 witnessing a large-scale gathering, East Central Railway continues to operate special services to cater to the needs of pilgrims, ensuring a seamless travel experience.
