76th Republic Day Celebrations to Be Organized Grandly in Patna: Commissioner

Patna: A meeting chaired by the Divisional Commissioner of Patna Division, Mayank Warvade, outlined comprehensive preparations for the 76th Republic Day celebrations to be held at Gandhi Maidan in 2025. Addressing officials at the Collectorate auditorium, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of teamwork, coordination, and communication among departments to ensure the success of this significant event. He directed that administrative preparations should be expedited with regular rehearsals and briefings to ensure flawless execution.

The Commissioner highlighted that crowd management, law and order maintenance, and traffic management would remain top priorities during the celebrations. To achieve this, officials from various departments were assigned specific responsibilities. The Executive Engineer of the Building Construction Department was instructed to arrange barricading at Gandhi Maidan, level the ground, repair gates, and complete necessary brick pitching. The seating arrangement will be managed by the Deputy Collector of Nazarat and Additional District Magistrate Law and Order.

Electrical arrangements, including maintaining high-mast lights around Gandhi Maidan, will be handled by the General Manager PESU and Executive Engineer Electricity Works Division. Rehearsals for the joint parade will commence on January 11, 2025, with the final rehearsal on January 24, 2025. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna, will ensure all arrangements for the parade, and facilities like drinking water, public toilets, and medical aid will be provided during the rehearsals.

The Municipal Corporation, District Forest Officer, and Park Division will oversee cleaning Gandhi Maidan, trimming trees, and maintaining drainage. Additionally, the Public Health Engineering Department will install water tankers and ATMs, ensuring proper drinking water facilities. Medical centers with doctors, trained health workers, and ambulances will also be set up at strategic locations in and around Gandhi Maidan to handle emergencies.

Firefighting arrangements will include two fire brigades stationed at key locations. The District Public Relations Officer will manage media arrangements, including announcers for the event and provisions for press representatives. Traffic management will be handled by the Superintendent of Police Traffic, with alternative routes and parking arrangements to be publicized in advance.

Deputy Development Commissioner, Deputy Collector of Nazarat, and the District Public Relations Officer will supervise the display of tableaux, ensuring they meet specified standards. Waterproof tents and pandals will be arranged for participants, and strict guidelines will be followed for height and design. The District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police will oversee security and issue joint orders for maintaining law and order.

Invitation letters for guests will be sent promptly, and a traffic control room will be established for smooth vehicular movement. Commissioner Mayank Warvade reiterated the administration’s commitment to managing the event with excellence, urging all officers to remain alert, ready, and committed.

District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for his guidance and assured that all preparations would be completed on time. Officials from various departments, including the Senior Superintendent of Police, Deputy Development Commissioner, and City Superintendent of Police, participated in the meeting.
