CBSE Urges Students to Focus Solely on NCERT Books for Board Exam Preparation

Patna: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a strong advisory for students preparing for the upcoming Class 10 and 12 board exams, urging them to rely exclusively on NCERT books for their studies. The directive comes as the board emphasizes that the exam pattern is based solely on the NCERT curriculum.

The Class 10 exams are scheduled from 15 February to 18 March, while Class 12 exams will take place between 15 February and 4 April. With limited time remaining, CBSE has urged parents to ensure their children prioritize NCERT materials.

School principals have also been instructed to base practice sessions and preparatory exercises on questions derived from NCERT books. The decision follows complaints that some schools have been using non-NCERT books to prepare students, potentially diverting them from the official curriculum.

In a bid to ensure fairness and quality, the board has announced that examination centres will be set up in schools with a proven track record of strong performance. Additionally, qualified subject teachers will be deployed to evaluate answer sheets.
