Rahul Gandhi to Visit Patna for Samvidhan Suraksha Samellan and Congress Workers’ Meeting on Jan 18

Patna: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Patna on January 18 for a one-day trip, during which he will participate in the Samvidhan Suraksha Samellan and engage with party leaders and workers at Sadakat Ashram, the state Congress hedquarters in Patna. This marks his first visit to Bihar since the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Rahul will address the Samvidhan Suraksha Samellan at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, an event organised by civil society groups, including the Dalit Adhikar Manch. During his address, Rahul is expected to engage with members from various communities, such as Scheduled Castes, backward and most backward classes, and minorities.

Following the conference, Rahul will head to the Congress party’s state headquarters, Sadakat Ashram, where a workers’ conference is set to take place. The gathering will see the interaction of Gandhi with party MPs, MLAs, Legislative Councilors, district in-charges, and other key party leaders and workers. The event is seen as pivotal in setting the tone for Congress’s strategy in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

In a gesture of support for party workers, Rahul Gandhi will inaugurate the Indira Karmachari Awas at Sadakat Ashram, unveiling eight newly constructed flats for the workers. The keys to the flats will be handed over to their new occupants during the visit.

The upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, scheduled for October-November, have prompted political parties to ramp up preparations. Bihar’s JDU and RJD leaders are already actively engaging with the public, making Gandhi’s visit even more significant. It is expected that his presence will energise Congress workers and help shape the party’s election strategy for the coming months.

Senior Congress leaders, including state in-charge Mohan Prakash, state president and MP Dr. Akhilesh Prasad Singh, leader of the legislative party Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khan, and former state president Madan Mohan Jha, will be present at the event.
