Rs. 60 Crore International Sports Complex to be Built in Bettiah for Athletes to Train and Compete
Bettiah: Bettiah is set to receive a major upgrade with the construction of a new international-level sports complex. The project, approved by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, will replace the existing dilapidated Maharaja Stadium and is expected to cost over Rs 60 crore.
The Municipal Corporation of Bettiah has issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the project, and the Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared by the Muzaffarpur divisional office of the Bihar Building Construction Corporation. The complex will also include a national-level training center.
The new stadium will boast modern facilities including an 8-lane synthetic track, a natural playing field with imported grass, a canteen, a gym, and accommodation rooms with luxury facilities for VVIP and VIP guests. A 100-seater conference hall and a VIP spectator gallery with a special shade are also planned.
The total area of the stadium will be approximately 200×140 meters, with an additional 80-meter area on the south side. The Municipal Commissioner has assured that the corporation will be responsible for the maintenance of the stadium after its completion.
