Woman Gives Birth to Triplets in Gopalganj, Mother and Babies Healthy

triplets born in Bihar

Gopalganj: A woman in Bihar’s Gopalganj district has given birth to triplets—two girls and a boy—at Sadar Hospital. Doctors confirmed that both the mother and newborns are in good health, though the babies have been admitted to the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) due to low birth weight.

The mother, Mamta Devi, a resident of Domnpur village in Bhore block and wife of Ajay Singh, was admitted to the hospital on Monday after experiencing labour pains. She delivered the three babies naturally.

According to medical staff, the birth took place over a span of two hours. GNM Ranjana, who attended the delivery, said the first baby was born at 10:45 am, the second at 11:05 am, and the third at 12:56 pm. “While twin births are relatively common, delivering triplets is rare, occurring in about one in several thousand pregnancies,” she noted.

The news of the birth has spread quickly, with relatives and locals celebrating the arrival of the three newborns. Mamta Devi and her husband expressed their happiness, as did their extended family, who described the birth as a “blessing.”
