Hajipur: A Dalda wholesale trader and his associate were shot by criminals during a robbery attempt in Nishad Gali, Hathsarganj, under the Nagar Thana area. The incident took place late at night when the trader, Gopal Krishna, was returning home after closing his shop at Gudri Bazar.
According to Gopal Krishna, six criminals arrived on two bikes and tried to snatch his money. When he resisted, the assailants opened fire, injuring him near the waist. His associate, Ajay Kumar, was also wounded in the attack.
Hearing the gunshots, locals rushed to the spot and immediately informed the Nagar Thana police. Both victims were taken to a private nursing home in Hajipur city, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the culprits. Further details are awaited.
