
Patna: In a significant step towards advancing education and research in Bihar, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna. This strategic partnership aims to foster collaboration in specialized areas of nanotechnology, including nanoelectronics, nanomedicine, nanomaterials for water purification, nano-fertilizer technologies, River studies and other emerging technologies.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof. T. N. Singh, Director, IIT Patna, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh, Head, Nanoscience, Dr. Anup Kumar Keshri, Associate Dean, R&D (IIT Patna), Prof. Ramji Singh, Registrar, AKU in the esteemed presence of Prof. A. K. Thakur, Registrar and Dean Administration, Dr. N. K. Tomar, Associate Dean, Resource, Dr. Subrata Hait, Associate Dean, Postgraduate programmes, and Dr. Sushant Kumar, Associate Dean, Undergraduate programmes, Kripa Shankar Singh. Prof. Sharad Kumar Yadav, Vice Chancellor of Aryabhatta Knowledge University, joined the event virtually and extended his congratulations to both institutions.
On the occasion, Prof. T. N. Singh, Director, IIT Patna, expressed his enthusiasm, said, “It is a matter of great pride that two distinguished institutions have come together with the shared vision of contributing to the academic and technological growth of the state and the nation. This collaboration will pave the way for joint efforts in teaching, research in nanoscience, and other emerging areas.”
Echoing this sentiment, Prof. Sharad Kumar Yadav, Vice Chancellor of AKU, remarked, “This MoU marks a significant milestone in strengthening Bihar’s higher education ecosystem. The partnership will enhance the knowledge base of our students and researchers and foster a strong framework for sustainable development through innovation and collaborative research.”
The MoU outlines a broad scope of collaboration, including the design and execution of joint research projects, academic exchanges, capacity-building initiatives, and interdisciplinary teaching programs.
