Patna: Cancer, once perceived as an incurable affliction, is now showing signs of controllable outcomes, especially with timely detection. Mayor Sita Sahu emphasized the importance of raising awareness not only within families but also in society, acknowledging the toll it takes on both physical well-being and financial stability. Gulmohar Maitri Sanstha took a significant step in this direction by inaugurating the Cancer Awareness Conclave and introducing the Arogya Maitri Project.

Mayor Sita Sahu, at the launch of the Arogya Maitri Project, expressed confidence that this initiative would be a blessing for the women of Bihar. The project aims to raise awareness and motivate women for regular health checkups, a crucial step in the fight against cancer. Sahu praised the collaborative efforts of Gulmohar Maitri Sanstha and hoped that their endeavors would yield positive results.

The Arogya Maitri program commenced at the Urja Auditorium in the capital, Patna. Gulmohar Maitri Sanstha, with a 14-year history of working in the field of women’s health, has been actively conducting cancer awareness programs across various districts in Bihar. The ongoing campaign focuses on cervical and breast cancer screening, with the Navya program providing HPV vaccination to over a lakh girls.

The program inauguration saw the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries, including Patna Mayor Sita Sahu, former minister Jeevesh Kumar Mishra, Shreyasi Singh, former president of IMA Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh, Lieutenant General AK Choudhary, Major General M Indrabalan, and Manju Singha.

Brand ambassador Shreyasi Singh highlighted the critical role the younger generation plays in shaping a healthy and better India. She urged school children in attendance to carry the awareness campaign to every home, emphasizing the need for women to prioritize their health.

Singha highlighted the collaborative efforts involving enlightened individuals, school children, public representatives, and doctors in conducting awareness campaigns.
