IIM Bodh Gaya Leads Yuva Sangam Initiative to Foster Bihar-Gujarat Cultural Exchange

Bodh Gaya: In a significant move aimed at promoting cultural exchange, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya has emerged as the nodal institute for the Yuva Sangam program, fostering connections between the states of Bihar and Gujarat.

The Yuva Sangam program, a collaborative effort between IIM Bodh Gaya and IIT Surat, is a crucial step in realizing the vision of “Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat,” a flagship initiative of the Government of India. IIM Bodh Gaya’s role as a nodal center underscores its commitment to participate in Yuva Sangam Phase 3, a mission designed to strengthen interpersonal relationships and cultivate empathy among the nation’s youth, a statement issued by the institute on Saturday stated.

Under Yuva Sangam Phase 3, students from Bihar will have the opportunity to experience the rich cultural tapestry of Gujarat, while students from Gujarat will journey to Bihar to explore its cultural treasures. The overwhelming interest in this initiative is evident, with over 25,000 students from across the nation having already registered. Impressively, more than 1,300 students from Bihar have enrolled, and 45 of them will be chosen to embark on this cultural exchange to IIT Surat.

Yuva Sangam participants are divided into groups and offered a unique chance to delve into the art and culture of their partner state or union territory. Each group spends seven days immersing themselves in the local culture, traditions, and development initiatives. The program encompasses cultural exchanges, enlightening insights into historical facts, and community service activities, fostering a holistic understanding of the partner region.

Phase 3 of Yuva Sangam 2023 is currently in progress, and registration will remain open until November 15, 2023. This initiative welcomes young individuals aged 18 to 30, including students, NSS (National Service Scheme)/NYKS (Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan) volunteers, employed and self-employed persons, IIM Bodh Gaya stated.

An essential facet of Yuva Sangam 2023 is the emphasis on experiential learning. Participants are encouraged to explore the local culture and gain insights into the lives of ordinary citizens, enabling them to develop a profound appreciation for India’s rich diversity and cultivate empathy and respect for people from diverse backgrounds.

Yuva Sangam 2023 stands as an invaluable opportunity for young individuals eager to discover India’s cultural mosaic and extend their empathy to people from different backgrounds. Those interested in participating in Yuva Sangam 2023 can register on the official website until October 28, and be part of this enriching cultural exchange, IIM Bodh Gaya stated.
