Liquor Smugglers Attack Police with Bottles for 4 KM in Jamui, Vehicle Loaded with 56 Cartons Seized

Jamui: In a dramatic chase, liquor smugglers in Jamui attacked excise police officers with liquor bottles while fleeing with a large consignment of foreign liquor. The incident occurred early Friday morning when the smugglers, driving a vehicle resembling an army car, attempted to smuggle 56 cartons of liquor. The police at the Dumri check post on the Jamui-Chakai road tried to stop the vehicle, but the smugglers broke through the barricade and sped away.

For four kilometers, the excise police chased the smugglers, who continuously threw liquor bottles at them in an attempt to slow them down. Despite the barrage, the police pursued the criminals until the smugglers managed to escape under the cover of darkness. However, the police recovered 56 cartons of foreign liquor scattered along the road from Dumri to Pelvajan.

Excise Superintendent Subhash Pandey reported that the vehicle used by the smugglers had a single star insignia, similar to those used by the army, which allowed the criminals to avoid suspicion. The police have launched an investigation and are actively tracking down the smugglers involved in the attack.
