Bihar Tourism Department to Host Travel and Tourism Fair in Patna

Patna, October 8, 2024: The Tourism Department of Bihar is set to organize the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) on October 22-23 at Gyan Bhawan, Patna. The announcement was made during the weekly review meeting held on Monday, where Tourism Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh directed departmental officials to ensure the smooth and successful organization of the event.

Singh emphasized the importance of collective participation from all department officials and employees to make the TTF a grand success. He urged senior officials to complete all necessary preparations on time to avoid any last-minute issues.

This will be the second edition of the Travel and Tourism Fair in Patna, following its debut on October 7-8 last year at Gyan Bhawan, Samrat Ashok Convention Center, Gandhi Maidan. The 2023 event saw participation from representatives both from India and abroad, who engaged in discussions on enhancing Bihar’s tourism prospects and boosting the tourism industry in the state.

During the meeting, Singh also set a target for the concerned officials to utilize 45 percent of the annual budget expenditure by November. Additionally, he directed continuous promotion on social media to encourage maximum participation in two ongoing competitions organized by the department: Mera Block, Mera Gaurav and Bihar Tourism: An Influencer’s Eye.

The meeting was attended by Managing Director of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Nand Kishore, Director Vinay Kumar Rai, Deputy Secretary Indu Kumari, and other senior officials and staff members.

The upcoming fair is expected to be a significant event for promoting Bihar’s tourism sector and exploring new avenues for growth in the industry.
