State Level Review Held for Mera Prakhand Mera Gaurav Competition in Bihar

Patna: A state-level review meeting was held for the “Mera Prakhand Mera Gaurav” competition organized by the Bihar Tourism Department. The meeting, conducted through video conferencing, was chaired by Tourism Director Vinay Kumar Rai. So far, 50 participants have entered the competition, which began on October 2. Rai emphasized the need for increased participation from all blocks of the state. The competition aims to highlight lesser-known places of historical, religious, or cultural importance within the blocks, promoting their inclusion on the state’s tourism map.

The competition will run online until November 1, with each participant selecting an undiscovered site within their block. Participants must submit a 200-word description of the site’s historical or religious significance, along with three high-quality photographs (up to 10MB) and a 30-second video (up to 100MB) showcasing the location. Entries are to be submitted through the departmental website. Only one entry per block is allowed, with participants submitting information only for sites within their respective blocks.

Entries will be reviewed by a district-level jury consisting of officials such as the Additional Collector, Tourism Officer, District Public Relations Officer, and the Circle Officer/Block Development Officer. A total of 534 entries will be selected for state-level consideration. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three entries: Rs. 50,000, Rs. 45,000, and Rs. 35,000, respectively, for the Jury and People’s Choice Award. Additionally, 10 participants will receive consolation prizes of Rs. 20,000, and 518 selected entries will receive Rs. 10,000 and a citation.
