District Magistrate Inspects Progress as Completion Deadline Approaches

Patna: District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh inspected the new Collectorate building currently under construction and reviewed the progress of the work. He instructed the officials and engineers to expedite the remaining tasks, ensuring the project is completed by the end of October. The new building is designed to house all district administration offices under one roof, enhancing accessibility for residents.

Dr. Singh highlighted the building’s earthquake-resistant design, featuring five floors plus a basement and ground floor. It will incorporate modern facilities, including solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system. The District Magistrate emphasized that this state-of-the-art structure will serve as a one-stop solution for district residents and will reflect a modern and progressive image of Bihar.

During the inspection, Dr. Singh discussed various aspects of the construction, including safety protocols, emergency evacuation facilities, fire safety measures, and accessibility features. The Executive Engineer from Structure Division-1 of the Building Construction Department briefed Dr. Singh on the progress and confirmed that finishing touches are being applied, with work on furnishing and fitting underway.

Dr. Singh also addressed the need for efficient maintenance and cleanliness once the building is completed, directing officials to coordinate with relevant departments for high-quality work. With its strategic location by the Ganga River and a design that merges modern and traditional architectural styles, the new Collectorate is poised to become a vital hub for district administration, significantly improving service delivery to the public.

In total, the complex will cover 43,454 square meters, with 39 departments operating within the main building. Facilities will include extensive parking, conference rooms equipped with modern technology, and ample green space. Dr. Singh reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing humane and environmentally friendly development, ensuring that residents receive top-notch services with the completion of this project.
