HDFC Bank Files FIR for Theft Against Borrower in Barh

Patna: HDFC Bank has lodged a theft complaint involving property seized from M/s Jai Maa Durga Industries, a borrower based in Barh, after a loan default. Arvind Kumar, the proprietor, along with several mortgagees and guarantors, failed to repay the loan, leading the bank to seize the mortgaged property. The bank took possession of the property, located in Wajitpur, Barh, Patna, on June 15, 2023, under the supervision of the police and a magistrate.

According to the bank, the property was sealed after an inventory of all movable items was recorded. However, on October 17, 2024, local residents alerted a bank employee that the back door of the premises had been broken into, and goods were being stolen. Upon receiving this information, the bank promptly informed the police.

The bank suspects that the borrower and mortgagees may be involved in the theft. A case has been registered, and the police have launched an investigation, focusing on the criminal conspiracy behind the incident.
