Patna: Notre Dame Academy, Patna, held an English Great Debate competition organized by the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). The event featured 48 students from 12 prominent schools in Patna, including DPS, Litra Valley, St. Michael’s, and Trinity Global School, competing in both junior and senior categories.

The competition was divided into two sections: Junior (Classes 6 to 8) and Senior (Classes 9 to 10). The junior category debated the topic, “Is the concept of nonviolence still relevant in today’s intolerant world?” while the senior category discussed, “Growing tourism will lead to environmental damage.” Each participant had two minutes to present their arguments, followed by a two-minute rebuttal session.

A distinguished panel of judges, including Neerja Lal (Former HOD, Patna Women’s College), Anuradha Sen (HOD, English Department, A.N. College), and Shruti Sahi (Senior English Teacher), evaluated participants based on their clarity, reasoning, and rebuttal skills.

In the junior category, the Best Speaker award went to Hibba Azad from NDA Patna. Ahmed Akhtar from St. Michael’s secured the First Runner-Up position, and Virat Vaibhav from NDA Barh claimed the Second Runner-Up title. Aradhya Anand from NDA Patna and Achintya Sinha from International School were recognized as Promising Speakers.
