Bihar Government to Pay Advance Salaries to Employees Ahead of Diwali and Chhath

Patna: The Bihar government has announced a pre-Diwali and Chhath festival bonus for its employees and pensioners, with this month’s salaries to be paid in advance. The payment will begin on October 25, according to an order issued by the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister, Samrat Chaudhary.

The move is set to benefit around 10 lakh employees, including 5 lakh teachers. It follows a tradition of the state government advancing salaries for its workforce during major festivals.

Chaudhary said that all treasury officers have been instructed to ensure timely payment of salaries for October. “Diwali is a significant festival, marked by worship and shopping. In light of this, the Bihar government has decided to advance the salary for the month,” he said.
