Child Labor Trafficking Attempt Foiled: Eight Minors Rescued at Kishanganj Station

children trafficking case foiled at Kishanganj railway station

Kishanganj: Eight children being trafficked for child labour were rescued at Kishanganj Railway Station. The rescue operation was carried out by a team comprising the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), Child Helpline, and the NGO Rahat. The children, aged between 12 and 14, were apprehended on platform number 2 of the station.

During the initial questioning, the children claimed they were traveling for a trip and education purposes. However, they failed to provide the required documentation for school enrollment in any state and struggled to answer basic questions about their journey. This raised suspicion, and authorities stopped them from traveling to another state.

Following the rescue, the Kishanganj Child Helpline team took the children into protective custody and transported them to their office for further action. They were provided medical care and presented before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Kishanganj for legal and rehabilitative measures.
