After Rainfall, Bihar Faces Scorching Heatwave

Patna: After recent rainfall, Bihar is now set to experience a sharp rise in temperatures, with meteorologists warning of a significant heatwave in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Center in Patna, the maximum temperature is expected to increase by 3-4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature could rise by 1-3 degrees Celsius over the next three to four days. Experts caution that this sudden heat surge may pose health risks, especially for vulnerable groups.
Over the past 24 hours, Patna and its surrounding districts witnessed partially cloudy skies due to a cyclonic circulation over the Southeast Bay of Bengal. While most areas remained dry, Kishanganj recorded 1.5 mm of rainfall, providing some relief.
Temperature fluctuations were observed across different districts, with an increase in minimum temperatures in 19 cities, including Patna, while some districts recorded a decline.
Temperature Trends in the Last 24 Hours
Patna recorded a minimum temperature of 21.3°C, which marked a drop of 1.3°C from the previous day. The lowest minimum temperature was reported in Agwanpur (Saharsa) at 15.1°C. Meanwhile, the highest maximum temperature was recorded in Madhubani at 35.2°C, while Patna’s maximum temperature reached 33.4°C.
Westerly winds dominated the region, keeping the weather dry in the capital and surrounding areas.
