AIIMS Patna Champions Healthcare and Patriotism on 75th Republic Day
Patna – The 75th Republic Day at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna, was marked with joyous celebrations and festivity. The day commenced with the Executive Director, Dr. Gopal Krushna Pal, unfurling the national tricolor and delivering a speech that resonated with the values of the Constitution and a vision for a bright future for the nation.
The event took place in the presence of Professor Dr. C. M. Singh, Medical Superintendent, Nilotpal Bal, Deputy Director (Administration), Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Faculty (Administration), HoD CTVS, faculty members, nursing officers, staff, and students of the institute on Friday.
In his address, Dr. Pal expressed his pride and extended greetings on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day. He highlighted the institute’s commitment to delivering exemplary health services and conducting research programs in the field of medical science and health welfare.
Dr. Pal, as the head of AIIMS Patna, shared several milestones achieved in the last year:
1. The successful 1st convocation held on October 19, 2023, attended by the honorable President of India, Droupadi Murmu, which received widespread acclaim.
2. Recruitment of numerous faculties, nursing, and non-faculty staff, with 256 nursing officers promoted to senior nursing officer.
3. Implementation of drone facilities in the health sector, aiming to deliver essential medicines to remote areas in the state of Bihar.
4. AIIMS-Patna’s recognition as the number one institute in linking Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) or Health ID, under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
5. Introduction of super special addition courses in Cardiology, Neonatology, Nephrology, Clinical Intervention Physiology, Urology, and six years integrated courses in trauma, CTVS, and Gastro surgery.
6. Increased enrollment of postgraduate students in various departments.
7. Infrastructure enhancements, including the establishment of VDRL Lab, Research Decisions, and ongoing projects.
Dr. Pal launched a Bulletin on the Medical Records Department, AIIMS-Patna, presenting data from January 1, 2022, to October 31, 2023. The Bulletin includes outpatient and in-patient department registrations, bed occupancy, surgeries, births, and deaths, along with a comparative analysis for the same period in 2022. The bulletin will be available on the AIIMS-Patna website.
Awards were distributed among non-faculty staff members and nurses. Winners included 2 senior nursing officers, 5 nursing officers, 1 Medical Record Officer, 2 stenographers, 1 senior administrative assistant, 3 junior administrative assistant/SKC, 1 office attendant, 1 lab attendant, and 1 Hospital Attendant. Additionally, the Best Operation Theater competition winners were CTVS OT (1st prize), Surgical Gastroenterology, and ENT OT.
The program concluded with a display by the ceremonial band and a colorful cultural performance by the students. A patriotic movie, “Sam Bahadur,” was hosted, adding to the overall coordination and grandeur of the event.
