AIIMS Patna Hosts Vidyarthi Avum Visheshgya Meet 24 Under American College of Physicians India Chapter
PATNA – The Department of Emergency Medicine at AIIMS Patna successfully organized its annual academic meeting, Vidyarthi Avum Visheshgya Meet 24, in collaboration with the American College of Physicians India chapter on January 17th and 18th, 2024.
The event saw the participation of esteemed faculties from across India, creating a platform for postgraduate and undergraduate medical students to benefit from the wealth of knowledge shared by these eminent professionals.
The inauguration of the Vidyarthi Avum Visheshgya Meet was led by the Honorable Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Patna, (Prof) Dr. G.K Pal, alongside Medical Superintendent (Prof) Dr. C.M Singh and Dean Academics (Prof) Dr. Prem Kumar. Unfortunately, Dr. Anuj Maheswari could not physically attend the meeting due to adverse weather conditions; however, he extended his best wishes through a video message.
During the inaugural session, Dr. G.K Pal emphasized the pressing need for an integrated medical curriculum and greater emphasis on digital education in medical training. He stated, “More emphasis on integrated medical curriculum and digital education has to be the need of the hour as far as medical education is concerned.” The Executive Director highlighted the importance of such academic meets, fostering interaction between students and expert faculties, thereby enhancing the overall learning experience.
Organizing Chairperson, Dr. Divendu Bhushan, expressed optimism about the transformative impact of such academic meets on the learning paradigm of medical students. He noted, “These kinds of academic meets with interaction between students and expert faculties would provide a wonderful learning experience and would play an integral role in changing the learning persistent of medical students.”
Dr. Vishal Vaibhaw, the Organizing Secretary, highlighted the dual benefits of this platform, asserting that it not only enriches students’ learning experiences but also strengthens the bond between students and their teachers. He stated, “This platform benefits both students and their teachers, where teachers get to connect with students not just as teachers but also as friends.”
