AIIMS Patna OPD Closed for Kartik Purnima and Guru Nanak Jayanti; Hospitals Ensure Smooth Operations

AIIMS Doctor Molested in Patna: Police Investigating CCTV Footage

Patna – On the occasion of Kartik Purnima and Guru Nanak Jayanti, the Outpatient Department (OPD) services at AIIMS Patna will remain closed on Monday, as per directives from Director Dr. Gopal Krishna Pal.

However, heightened vigilance has been advised for emergency services during this period.

Concurrently, all super specialty hospitals, including IGIMS, PMCH, and NMCH, alongside other major district hospitals, will continue to operate their OPDs seamlessly, similar to regular days.

Although AIIMS Patna observes a holiday on Kartik Purnima due to central government regulations, it is not listed as a holiday in the state’s official holiday roster.

To ensure medical preparedness during Kartik Purnima, the Civil Surgeon has assembled six medical teams, comprising doctors and support staff, specifically for devotees taking a holy dip in the Ganges. Five teams have been deployed at Kali, Pataliputra, Digha, Gandhi, Gai, and Bhadraghat. Moreover, a doctor will remain stationed in the control room along with an ambulance for immediate response.

These medical teams will be on standby at their designated venues from 8 am on Sunday until the conclusion of the program on Monday. Doctors and medical personnel have been instructed to remain in prescribed attire and equipped with life-saving medications, stretchers, oxygen cylinders, and other necessary medical supplies.
