Animal Husbandry Directorate Launches Vaccination Drive to Combat Classical Swine Fever

Patna : A state-wide vaccination campaign to prevent classical swine fever (CSF) has been launched across Bihar, aiming to vaccinate over 230,000 pigs in the next 10 days. The campaign, which began on Thursday, March 20, will provide free vaccinations in all 38 districts of the state.
The Animal Husbandry Directorate, under the Department of Animal and Fisheries Resources, has issued guidelines to district-level animal husbandry officers to ensure the smooth execution of the programme. Pigs over four months of age will be vaccinated between 8 am and 4 pm daily, with officials encouraging livestock farmers to take full advantage of the initiative to protect their animals.
The Directorate has called on public representatives to raise awareness and ensure the success of the campaign. Farmers facing any issues related to non-vaccination or being charged for the service can lodge complaints with the Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Bihar, Patna, via the helpline number 0612-2230942. Additionally, for further information, farmers can contact the Animal Health and Production Institute’s control room on 0612-2226049 or the Disaster Control Room of the Directorate on the same helpline number.
