Awareness Drive on Air Pollution Organized by EIACP Centre in Patna
Patna: The Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme (EIACP) at the Centre for Studies on Environment and Climate (CSEC) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Government of India, conducted an awareness-cum-sensitization drive on air pollution in Patna. The event aimed to engage school students and educate them about the causes and effects of air pollution.
The program was held at Shri Chandra Middle School, Patna Sadar, Kurji, and featured a variety of competitions, including drawing, speech, poem, and short skits, all centered on preventing air pollution. Over 200 participants actively took part in the event, and winners in each category were awarded first, second, and third prizes for their outstanding performances.
Following the competitions, a lecture on the harmful effects of air pollution was delivered by Dr. Sunil Kumar Gupta, Program Officer at CSEC-ADRI. His talk emphasized the urgent need for collective action to mitigate air pollution and its impacts on health and the environment.
The event saw the participation of other CSEC-ADRI team members, including Pooja Kumari, Vaibhav, and Sanjeev, along with the school’s principal, Prerna Suman, and several teachers. The initiative was well-received, highlighting the importance of raising awareness and empowering students to take proactive measures against air pollution.
