Muzaffarpur: Hindu spiritual leader Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, popularly known as Baba Bageshwar, will be in Muzaffarpur for two days beginning Tuesday to deliver religious sermons as part of the ongoing Shri Shri 1008 Vishnu Maha Yagya. The event is taking place near Radhanagar Patahi Chausima on the Madhubani Fourlane, where Shastri will speak from 5pm to 9pm on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

A massive waterproof pandal has been erected to accommodate thousands of devotees expected to attend the discourse. The ten-day Vishnu Maha Yagya commenced on Monday with a Kalash Yatra involving 1,100 girls carrying Ganga water to Madhubani pond, which was later used for ritual offerings at the Yagya site.

Kalash Sthapana rituals were led by an Acharya from Varanasi, marking the ceremonial beginning of the event. Baba Bageshwar is scheduled to arrive in Muzaffarpur on Tuesday afternoon, with additional arrangements made for visiting devotees, including drinking water facilities, mobile toilets, and accommodation.

According to Kush Mishra, Executive President of Muzaffarpur Seva Sansthan, the Maha Yagya will conclude on 28 May, with a mass Upanayan (sacred thread) ceremony taking place on 23 May.

From 23 to 27 May, spiritual leader Aniruddhacharya Maharaj will also deliver discourses at the same venue. To reach a wider audience, large screens have been installed around the city, and the discourses will be streamed live on YouTube for those unable to attend in person.
