BAU Sabour’s Startup Cell and Incubation Centre Secure Top Ranks in Bihar’s Startup Rankings

Sabour: The Startup Cell and Incubation Centre at Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, have secured top positions in the latest rankings released by the Bihar government’s Ministry of Industry. The Startup Cell was ranked second among 46 startup centres, while the Incubation Centre claimed third place, marking a significant achievement in the state’s efforts to promote agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship.

Prof. D.N.R. Singh, Vice Chancellor of BAU Sabour, hailed the achievement as a testament to the university’s commitment to fostering startups and innovation in agriculture. “This recognition will motivate us to make Bihar a major hub for agricultural startups and innovation. Our startup and incubation centres are inspiring new entrepreneurs to explore agriculture-based business opportunities,” he said.

BAU Sabour’s Leading Role in Agricultural Innovation

The rankings highlight BAU Sabour’s leadership in strengthening Bihar’s agricultural innovation and startup ecosystem. The Startup Cell is led by Dr. A.K. Singh (Nodal Officer & Research Director), Dr. Neetu Kumari (Faculty In-Charge), and Megha Kumari (Startup Coordinator), while the Incubation Centre is headed by Dr. A.K. Singh (Nodal Officer) and Dr. Richa Kumari (Faculty In-Charge).

These centres are driving innovations in sustainable agriculture, biotechnology, agri-processing, and smart farming. By providing guidance, technical support, and financial assistance, they are helping young entrepreneurs, farmers, researchers, and agribusinesses develop and commercialise new agricultural solutions.

Dr. A.K. Singh emphasised the university’s role in bridging the gap between agricultural research and entrepreneurship. “Through the Startup Cell and Incubation Centre, we aim to make Bihar a hub for agri-innovation, leading to the economic empowerment of local youth and farmers. This ranking validates our continuous efforts in this direction,” he said.
