Begusarai: Man Dies by Suicide After Dispute with Wife

Begusarai: A 34-year-old man, Mohammad Azad, tragically died by suicide on Thursday morning in the Teghra police station area of Begusarai district, following a minor domestic dispute with his wife. The incident has plunged the Kolwara Sharif Mohalla into mourning and sparked grief and anger among local residents.
Azad, a resident of Ward No. 12 of Teghra Nagar Parishad, reportedly had an argument with his wife on Wednesday night. While family members described the disagreement as minor and not warranting such a drastic action, Azad, overwhelmed by emotional stress, locked himself in his room.
According to family accounts, everyone went to sleep, only to discover the devastating scene the following morning. When Azad failed to emerge from his room, his wife knocked on the door. Receiving no response, they peered through the window and found him hanging.
The news of Azad’s death quickly spread, causing widespread grief among family and neighbors. His wife was reportedly inconsolable. Local residents promptly alerted the Teghra police, who arrived at the scene and took custody of the body. It was then sent to Sadar Hospital, Begusarai, for a postmortem examination.
Police officers conducted an on-site investigation, questioning family members to understand the circumstances leading to the suicide. While initial findings suggest a domestic dispute as the primary cause, authorities are not ruling out other possibilities.
“We are investigating all angles,” stated a police spokesperson. “Further action will be determined based on the postmortem report and statements from the family.” The incident has left the community in shock and mourning, highlighting the tragic consequences of domestic disputes.
