Bettiah Police Unravel Horrific Rape and Death of Minor; Three Arrested

Bettiah: In a shocking development in the case of a minor girl’s suspicious death at Bettiah Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH), Superintendent of Police Dr. Shaurya Suman has revealed that the victim was first raped before being abandoned in critical condition by her attackers. She subsequently succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
The incident originates from a village under the Mainatad police station area. On Friday, a minor girl was found unconscious at Bettiah GMCH. Her family received a call informing them that their daughter had been injured in a road accident and was undergoing treatment at the hospital. However, by the time the family arrived, the minor had already passed away.
The circumstances surrounding her death were immediately suspicious as there were no external injury marks consistent with a road accident on the minor’s body. The police conducted a post-mortem examination and handed over the body to the family, who later staged a demonstration with the deceased’s body, demanding justice. Family members stated that the girl had left for computer coaching on June 19 but never returned home.

Taking the gravity of the situation seriously, Bettiah SP Dr. Shaurya Suman initiated a scientific investigation. This led to the arrest of three individuals: Bholu Kumar and Rupesh Kumar from a village under Chautarwa police station, and Sachin Kumar from Lauriya. All three are adults.
During the interrogation of the arrested accused, startling details emerged. SP Dr. Shaurya Suman revealed that the minor girl had left her home under the pretext of attending computer coaching. Instead, she traveled to Narkatiaganj with her two friends. There, they booked a room in a hotel where the minor girl was subjected to physical relations. Her health deteriorated significantly during this time.
Seeing her critical condition, her companions admitted her to Gupta Hospital in Narkatiaganj. As her condition worsened, she was referred to GMCH in Bettiah, where she tragically died during treatment. Following her death, one of the accused contacted the girl’s family, fabricating the story of a road accident before all three accused fled the scene.
“Bholu Kumar, Rupesh Kumar and Sachin Kumar. All three are adults. Bholu Kumar and Rupesh Kumar are from a village under Chautarwa police station while Sachin is from Lauriya. All three will be presented before the court after interrogation,” stated Dr. Shaurya Suman, SP, Bettiah. Police are continuing their investigation, and the accused are expected to be produced before the court soon.
