Bhagalpur: State-of-the-Art Park to Be Built in Aliganj at Rs 3.38 Crore
Bhagalpur: A modern park will be developed in the southern area of the city at a cost of ₹3.38 crore. The Aliganj area has been selected for the project by Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (BUIDCO), and the tender process is expected to be completed by March. The construction of the model park is likely to begin in April, providing residents with a dedicated space for walking, playing, and exercising.
Modern Design Over Traditional Structure
The Urban Development and Housing Department had initially planned a traditional design for the park, but it was later rejected. Now, architects from Patna are working on a fresh design, which will be reviewed through a PowerPoint presentation before final approval. The delay in finalizing the design has also led to an extension of the tender process for Gendkhana Park twice. Agencies can now participate in the tender process until February 20.
Mayor’s Initiative Under Amrit Mission 2.0
On the initiative of Mayor Dr. Basundhara Lal, the park will be constructed at Gendkhana Ground in Aliganj under the Amrit Mission 2.0. The entire project is expected to be completed within nine months after the tender process concludes.
A Detailed Project Report (DPR) was prepared and sent to the Municipal Corporation before being forwarded to the Central Government for approval by the State Level Technical Committee. Apart from the model park, Amrit Mission 2.0 will also focus on developing parks at three locations, renovating and beautifying ponds, and improving water and sewer facilities in underdeveloped areas.
