Bhagalpur to Patna in Just 3 Hours: Expressway Project Promises Time Savings
Bhagalpur: In a major development for Bhagalpur, residents are set to benefit from significant time savings with the introduction of the Buxar-Bhagalpur Expressway, announced in the 2024-25 general budget. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman allocated substantial funds towards this ambitious infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity between Bhagalpur, Patna, and Buxar.
The expressway, slated to connect several National Highways including NH-80 and NH 133E, promises to revolutionize travel in the region. This initiative forms part of the broader Greenfield Project Four-lane from Munger to Mirzachowki, designed to bolster economic prospects by facilitating smoother transportation links.
“With the completion of the expressway, residents will be able to reach Patna in just three hours and Buxar in four hours,” highlighted officials overseeing the project. This reduction in travel time is expected to spur economic growth, fostering increased industrial activity and trade expansion in Bhagalpur. Moreover, the improved connectivity is anticipated to generate employment opportunities across various sectors.
Local residents from Buxar, Rohtas, Bhojpur, Arwal, Gaya, Jehanabad, Nawada, Jamui, Sheikhpura, Banka, and Bhagalpur are set to be the primary beneficiaries of this initiative. Currently faced with a 380-kilometer journey between these cities, the expressway promises to streamline travel, transforming this commute into a swift four-hour drive.
The introduction of the Buxar-Bhagalpur Expressway marks a pivotal moment for regional infrastructure development, promising to propel Bhagalpur into a new era of prosperity and growth.
