Bihar: 10 IPS Officers Transferred in Administrative Reshuffle Ahead of Elections
PATNA – In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, a significant administrative reshuffle has been initiated, resulting in the transfer of 10 IPS officers within the state. The Home Department issued a notification on Wednesday outlining the changes.
Among the notable appointments, Garima Malik has been appointed as the new Inspector General (IG) of the capital city, Patna. Simultaneously, Shivdeep Lande has assumed the position of IG for the Tirhut range.
Rakesh Rathi has been entrusted with the role of IG Headquarters, while new Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) have been appointed in Chhapra, Saharsa, Purnia, Darbhanga, and Begusarai.
Key Changes in Responsibilities:
– Indian Police Service officer Sunil Kumar has been reassigned from the post of Additional Director General of Police (Security) in Patna to the role of Additional Director General of Police Special Branch in Patna. Previously, he held the responsibility of Special Branch in an additional capacity.
– IPS Rakesh Rathi has assumed the position of Inspector General of Police (Headquarters), Patna, succeeding his role as Inspector General of Police, Central Region, Patna.
– IPS Vinay Kumar has taken charge as the Inspector General of Police (Security), Patna, reclaiming the role from Inspector General of Police (Headquarters), Patna.
– The responsibility of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kosi area, Saharsa (elevated to the level of Inspector General) has been withdrawn from IPS Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande. He now serves as the Inspector General of Police for the Tirhut area, Muzaffarpur.
