Bihar: 30 Tourists Trapped but Rescued Safely from Kashish Waterfall in Rohtas District
Sasaram: Following heavy rainfall on Wednesday in the Kaimur hill area of Rohtas, the water levels in local waterfalls surged dramatically. Similarly, the water level in Kashish Waterfall located in Amjhor also rose sharply. As a result, more than 30 tourists became trapped in the rapidly rising water. However, the tourists demonstrated remarkable courage, holding each other’s hands to slowly navigate their way out of the floodwaters. Fortunately, everyone emerged safely.
A video capturing the incident, which is now going viral, shows the tourists’ ordeal and their eventual rescue.
The video, taken at Kashish Waterfall in Amjhor, Sasaram, shows tourists who had come for a picnic and to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. They were initially enjoying themselves when the flow of water suddenly increased, trapping them in the waterfall. The rapid rise in water levels posed a significant risk, but the group managed to escape by working together.
In response to the increased water levels, Dehri SDM Surya Pratap Singh issued a warning on Wednesday. The warning advised against entering rivers and canals for bathing, swimming, or other activities due to the heightened risk of drowning and property damage. Residents were urged to exercise caution and keep children away from these areas.
Additionally, District Magistrate Naveen Kumar conducted a surprise inspection of Tutla Bhawani Dham on Wednesday evening. He directed officials to enhance security measures and ensure adequate water and other facilities for tourists and devotees. Kumar emphasized the need for strict monitoring to prevent any anti-social activities at the site, such as illegal reel-making or stunts, and instructed that action be taken against offenders.
The inspection was attended by the District Forest Officer, SDM Dehri Surya Pratap Singh, BDO Ankit Jain, Circle Officer, and other Forest Department officials.
