Bihar Agricultural University Celebrates Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour
Bhagalpur: The Bihar Agricultural University in Sabour marked the 78th Independence Day with a vibrant celebration, enveloping the entire campus in the colours of the tricolour. The festivities commenced on the eve of Independence Day, with the university illuminated in the national colours, setting a tone of patriotism and unity.
On the morning of Independence Day, the university community came together to celebrate with great enthusiasm. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. D.R. Singh, led the proceedings, inspecting the National Cadet Corps (NCC) parade before hoisting the national flag to the strains of the national anthem. In his address, Dr. Singh paid homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom, urging the university community to honour this hard-won independence through their dedication and hard work.
Dr. Singh also reflected on the university’s achievements, highlighting its contributions to scientific research, education, and extension programs. He expressed satisfaction with the university’s consistent acquisition of new patents and its recognition in the NIRF rankings, calling on young scientists to strive for even greater heights.
The celebration concluded with a symbolic release of balloons into the sky, representing the spirit of independence. The entire event was broadcast live on community radio 90.8 FM Green and shared across social media platforms, ensuring wide engagement.
Simultaneously, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra at the university also celebrated Independence Day with equal fervour. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Senior Scientist and Head of the Centre, hoisted the flag and addressed the staff, emphasizing the importance of agriculture in India’s development. He reminded the employees of the priceless value of the freedom won through the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters, urging them to contribute to the prosperity of the nation through their work in agriculture.
The event saw active participation from scientists, staff, workers, and students involved in the Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) program, reflecting a shared commitment to building a stronger, self-reliant India.
