Bihar B.Ed CET 2025: Record 96.05% Pass As Gaya’s Bittu Tops State

Patna: A record number of aspiring teachers in Bihar cleared the Bihar B.Ed Common Entrance Test (CET) 2025, with an unprecedented 96.05% pass rate, results released by Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) on Monday.

The historic outcome has sparked widespread celebration among students and parents alike, as the state pushes to bolster its education sector.

The test, held on May 28 at 214 centres across 11 cities, drew 1.18 lakh candidates. Of these, 1.15 lakh were declared successful. The exam comprised 120 multiple-choice questions covering general knowledge, teaching aptitude, mathematics, Hindi and English.

Topping the charts was Bittu Kumar from Gaya, who secured 108 out of 120 marks—earning him first rank statewide and bringing pride to his home district. The top 10 list features seven boys and three girls, a result the university described as a positive step toward gender parity in teacher training.

“This success reflects the extraordinary hard work of students,” the university administration said, calling the pass rate a historic milestone.

Alongside the results, LNMU published the merit list and category-wise cut-off marks. The cut-off for general category candidates stands at 92 marks, with OBC at 85, SC at 78 and ST at 74. Divyang (disabled) candidates and women received reservation benefits in accordance with state rules.

“This achievement is a crucial step in elevating Bihar’s educational standards,” said Vice Chancellor Prof Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary, extending congratulations to successful candidates.

With results now out, counselling for admission into B.Ed colleges will begin shortly. The first phase starts on June 18, with the last date for online registration set for June 16. Candidates are advised to visit the official university website, lnmu.ac.in, for detailed counselling schedules and instructions.

Document verification for shortlisted candidates will follow as part of the admission process.
