Bihar Board Class 12 Results 2025: 86.5% Pass Rate, Toppers Announced

Patna : The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) announced the results of the Intermediate Examination 2025 on Tuesday. The results were declared by Education Minister Sunil Singh, along with Additional Chief Secretary Dr. S. Siddharth and BSEB Chairman Anand Kishore.

Out of 12.8 lakh students who appeared for the exams, 11.07 lakh students passed, marking an overall pass percentage of 86.5%. This is a slight drop compared to 2024, where 87.21% of students were successful.

Kumar Secures Top Spot

Kumar emerged as the overall topper this year, while Priya Jaiswal from West Champaran and Akash from Arwal secured top positions in the Science stream.

Stream-wise Performance

Among the three streams, commerce recorded the highest success rate, followed by science and arts:

  • Commerce: 94.77%
  • Science: 89.50%
  • Arts: 82.75%

Examination Overview

The Class 12 board examinations were conducted between 1 and 15 February 2025, with 6,41,847 girls and 6,50,466 boys appearing for the exams.

How to Check Results

Students can check their results online by visiting the official website biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in and following these steps:

  • Click on the ‘Bihar Board Class 12 Result 2025’ link on the homepage.
  • Enter the roll number and roll code.
  • The result will appear on the screen, which can be downloaded or printed.

Offline Result Access

For those facing internet issues or if the website crashes due to heavy traffic, results can be accessed offline via SMS:

Type BIHAR12 (space) Roll Number and send it to 56263.

The result will be sent as a message alert.

Minimum Passing Marks

To pass the Bihar Board Class 12 exams, students must secure at least 33% marks in both theory and practical exams. Those failing to achieve this threshold in more than two subjects will not qualify.

Reward for Toppers

This year, BSEB has increased the rewards for the top rankers:

  • First Rank: Rs2 lakh, a laptop, a certificate, and a medal (previously Rs1 lakh).
  • Second Rank: Rs1.5 lakh (previously Rs75,000).
  • Third Rank: Rs1 lakh (previously Rs50,000).
  • Fourth to 10th Rank: Rs30,000.

Consistent Record of Early Results

For the past six years, the Bihar Board has been the first to release Class 12 results ahead of other boards, and it has maintained this record again in 2025.
