Bihar Board Matric Results: 82.9% Pass Rate, Purnia’s Shivankar Tops, Nitish’s Dream School Produces 6 Top-10 Achievers
Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board announced the results of the Matriculation examination on Sunday, revealing a notable surge in pass rates. According to Board Chairman Anand Kishore, the pass percentage stands at 82.91%, marking a 1.87% increase compared to the previous year.
Shivankar of Purnia emerged as the state topper, securing an impressive 489 out of 500 marks, while Adarsh of Samastipur clinched the second position with 488 marks. Aditya Kumar of Jamui, Suman Kumar Purve of Madhubani, Palak Kumari of Saran, and Sajiya Parveen of Vaishali jointly secured the third position, each scoring 486 marks.
Remarkably, out of the 51 students who secured a spot in the top 10, six hail from the Simultala Residential School in Jamui. Notable achievers from the school include Aditya Kumar, Vicky Kumar, Mittal Kumar, Aman Kumar, and Sawan Kumar, who secured ranks within the top 10.
Simultala Residential School, nestled in the mountain valleys of Jamui, has long been hailed as a flagship project of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Its exceptional performance dates back to 2016 when all 42 students in the top 10 were from the school. While subsequent years witnessed fluctuations, this year’s resurgence signifies a remarkable achievement.
Despite challenges in previous years, including 2022’s five top-10 placements, 2021’s 13, and 2020’s six, the school has regained its prominence in producing academic excellence.
This year’s examination witnessed a total registration of 16.94 lakh students, with over 15 lakh appearing for the exams, marking a significant milestone in Bihar’s educational landscape.
