Bihar: Bride Flees with Lover on Wedding Day, Returns Claiming Abduction, Family Refuses to Take Her Back

Samastipur: A wedding in Samastipur took a dramatic turn when the bride eloped with her lover on the day of her marriage. The family, left in a state of distress, proceeded with the wedding by marrying off the younger sister to the groom. However, the situation escalated when the bride returned the next morning, claiming she had been abducted by her lover.

The incident occurred in a village under the jurisdiction of Vibhutipur police station. The bride’s family, upon her return, refused to accept her back and insisted that she should live with her lover. The lover’s family, on the other hand, expressed their unwillingness to accept her.

The bride’s brother filed a complaint against the lover, accusing him of abduction. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
The wedding procession had arrived from Pabda village in Rosda police station area on Friday night. The bride’s family was busy preparing for the wedding when she disappeared around 11 am, under the pretext of going to the washroom.

The bride’s uncle revealed that she called her brother at 8 pm, informing him that she was in Rosda and had no intention of returning. Despite the family’s pleas, she insisted on staying with her lover, Manish. To salvage their reputation, the family married off the younger sister to the groom who had arrived with the wedding procession.

The bride spent the night with her lover and his friends. However, in the morning, the lover abandoned her at a location within the village and fled. The bride’s family took her to the police station and refused to take her back, stating that she should now live with the lover’s family.

The bride accused Manish of forcefully abducting her, alleging that he and his friends assaulted her and took her to Dalsinghsarai. She claimed she was forced to return against her will.

Vibhutipur police station in-charge, Anand Kashyap, confirmed that a case has been registered against Manish Kumar based on the complaint filed by the bride’s brother. Manish is currently absconding. The police have recorded the bride’s statement, which includes serious allegations against Manish. A thorough investigation is underway.
