Bihar: BSRTC Bus Service Set to Transform Long-Distance Travel from Muzaffarpur to Tatanagar, Siliguri, Valmikinagar
Muzaffarpur: Residents of Muzaffarpur are set to enjoy a major boost in their travel options, as government buses begin service to Tatanagar, Siliguri, and Valmikinagar. The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) will launch these new routes from its regional office in Muzaffarpur, with a substantial addition of about 30 new buses under the PM E-Bus Service. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity across long distances and inter-district routes.
The BSRTC has been allocated Rs 73 crore 20 lakh to procure additional buses, with the total number of new vehicles expected to exceed one hundred when combined with the PM E-Bus fleet. The move promises to address the chronic shortage of long-distance travel options, particularly during peak travel seasons when trains are overcrowded.
The new service will introduce several long-distance routes, including Muzaffarpur to Raxaul, Tatanagar, Siliguri, and Gumla, as well as Raxaul to Siliguri and Valmikinagar. Existing routes, such as those to Sheohar, Motihari, and Sahebganj, will also see an increase in bus frequency.
