Bihar Budget 2025: Government Announces Hostels, Pink Buses, and Job Reservations for Women

Patna: The Bihar government has unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at women’s welfare in the Bihar Budget 2025, presented in the state legislature on Monday by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Samrat Choudhary. The budget includes provisions to enhance women’s safety, employment opportunities, and public facilities.

Among the key announcements, mobile gyms for women will be introduced in Patna, and working women’s hostels will be set up in major cities. To improve sanitation and accessibility, pink toilets will be constructed, while a pink bus service will be launched in large cities, with both drivers and conductors being women.

The government has also announced training programs for women to become bus drivers and conductors, with female trainers leading the initiative. Additionally, 33% reservation has been introduced for women in the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation for roles including operator drivers, conductors, and eco-maintenance staff.

To promote economic empowerment, a women’s market will be established in Patna, and business spaces in key commercial areas across major cities will have dedicated zones for female entrepreneurs.
