Bihar Business Connect 2024 Begins in Patna with Over 80 Companies Participating
Patna: The two-day Bihar Business Connect 2024 began at Gyan Bhavan in Patna, with participation from more than 80 top-level companies. The event aims to discuss investment opportunities in the state and promote industrial growth. The program was inaugurated by Industry Minister Nitish Mishra, with Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha also in attendance. The event features 4-5 special sessions, including discussions on MSMEs and startups.
During his address, Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary highlighted the state’s potential, stating that Bihar is ready to progress further. He mentioned the state’s large population and talent pool, emphasizing the success of students in competitive exams like UPSC. He also pointed out that Bihar has effectively managed floods caused by water released from Nepal, which previously submerged several districts.
Samrat Chaudhary announced plans to construct five large dams in Bihar to control floods and enhance agricultural productivity. He urged investors to support the establishment of food processing units, particularly for maize, a major crop in the region. He emphasized the government’s commitment to creating opportunities through initiatives like the Global Summit.
Deputy CM Vijay Sinha assured investors of full government support. He praised Bihar’s progress in fields like ethanol production and highlighted crime control efforts. He urged businesses to partner with the government for the economic development of the state, citing investor-friendly policies and infrastructure improvements such as the expressway granted by the central government.
On the second day of the summit, a CEO Round Table will be held, where ministers, officials, and industrial leaders will discuss collaboration opportunities. The event will culminate with the signing of major MOUs in the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Additionally, videos showcasing Bihar’s industrial potential and policies will be presented.
Bihar Business Connect was first launched in 2023 to boost industrial and entrepreneurial development in the state. The inaugural event saw participation from over 600 national and international businessmen. Leading industrialists such as Pranav Adani of Adani Group and Shukla Mistry of IOCL attended the summit last year.
In 2023, MOUs were signed for 278 proposals worth Rs. 50,530 crore, with 244 schemes worth Rs. 38,000 crore already implemented. The success of the previous summit has set high expectations for this year’s Bihar Business Connect, as the state continues to attract significant investment.
