Patna: In a move set to significantly boost employment opportunities for the state’s youth and enhance public services, the Bihar Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, today approved 22 key agendas across various departments. Dr. S. Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary, briefed the media with detailed insights.
Among the most impactful decisions is the creation of 8,093 new lower-class clerk positions within Gram Panchayat offices at the Panchayat level. This initiative is expected to provide substantial employment for Bihar’s young population, addressing a long-standing demand for job creation.
The comprehensive cabinet meeting saw approvals impacting a wide array of critical sectors, including Agriculture, Sports, Health, Rural Development, Labor Resources, Water Resources, Planning and Development, Animal and Fisheries Resources, Social Welfare, Urban Development and Housing, and the Cabinet Secretariat Department.
In the health sector, the government demonstrated its commitment to accountability and efficiency by approving the dismissal of six doctors and the voluntary retirement of one doctor.
Further demonstrating a progressive approach, the Cabinet also approved a proposal to develop a policy aimed at providing accommodation facilities for women government employees near their places of posting. This measure is seen as a crucial step towards supporting and empowering women in the workforce by addressing a significant logistical challenge.
These approvals collectively underscore the Bihar government’s sustained focus on improving public services, fostering employment generation, and enhancing the overall welfare of both women and youth throughout the state.
