Bihar Celebrates Deepawali with Grand Displays of Lights and Fireworks; CM Nitish Kumar and Governor Arlekar Extend Greetings
Patna: Bihar celebrated the festival of lights, Deepawali, with great fervour, as cities across the state were adorned with colourful lights, giving buildings, shops, and homes a festive glow. Multi-storey buildings, especially in urban centres, were decorated with LED lights, while firecrackers filled the skies, creating a vibrant atmosphere. In keeping with tradition, residents lit earthen lamps and decorated their homes with intricate rangolis as evening descended.
Public squares and intersections were also illuminated with decorative lights, attracting large gatherings and adding to the festive spirit. The auspicious Lakshmi Puja time began at 5 p.m. and will continue until 3:27 a.m., offering six muhurtas for worship. According to astrologers, four Rajyogas—Shash, Kuldeepak, Shankh, and Lakshmi Yoga—are formed this evening, believed to enhance prosperity and bring auspicious results.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar extended their warm wishes to the people of Bihar, marking the occasion with heartfelt greetings. In honour of the festival, CM Nitish Kumar also lit a ceremonial lamp at the Chief Minister’s residence, embracing the spirit of Deepawali with the people of the state.
