Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday voiced strong support for Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army’s precision airstrikes on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), calling it a “proud moment for the country.”
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kumar said the operation was carried out in response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and involved targeting nine terrorist hideouts across the border.
“The whole country is united against terrorism,” the chief minister wrote. “We are proud of the courage and valour of the Indian Army. We all have unwavering faith and pride in the leadership of respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. Jai Hind.”
The airstrikes, which reportedly hit camps used by Pakistan-based terror groups, have drawn support from across the political spectrum, with leaders hailing the military action as a strong response to cross-border terrorism.
Operation Sindoor marks one of the most high-profile military actions since the Balakot airstrikes in 2019, underscoring India’s sharpened doctrine on preemptive counter-terrorism strikes.
Details of the operation, including the exact location of the camps and damage inflicted, have not yet been officially disclosed. However, sources within the defence establishment have described the strikes as “precision-targeted” and “surgically executed.”
Public sentiment has also been vocal, especially from families affected by the Pahalgam attack, who have welcomed the military action as a long-overdue response to rising militancy in the region.
