Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for Projects Worth Rs. 299 Crore in Madhepura
Madhepura: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar dedicated projects worth Rs. 299.56 crore to Madhepura district during the third phase of his Pragati Yatra. Through remote inauguration from the Government Polytechnic College in Udakishunganj, he inaugurated 40 projects worth Rs. 103.17 crore and laid the foundation stones for 29 projects valued at Rs. 196.39 crore.
During his visit to Rasalpur Dhuria Panchayat in Chausa block, Kumar reviewed developmental works and inspected departmental stalls at ITI, Udakishunganj. He handed over symbolic cheques of Rs. 33.98 crore to 5,251 self-help groups, Rs. 82.55 crore to 7,685 self-help groups, and Rs. 6.55 crore to families of 1,232 Jeevika Didis. He interacted with Jeevika Didis, appreciating their progress and self-reliance, recalling how Bihar’s self-help groups evolved under his government and later inspired the national ‘Ajeevika’ program.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Center for Excellence at the Government Polytechnic College campus. After cutting the ribbon, he inspected the modern technology-based workshop and inquired about the machinery installed there. Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for Bihar State Minority Residential School, a Rs. 56.52 crore project. Officials briefed him on the school’s design, and he instructed them to ensure proper construction while preserving the adjacent playground for students.
Kumar also inaugurated a newly developed playground next to the Government Polytechnic College, built at a cost of Rs. 9.94 lakh. He visited the Raghunath Vidya Mandir Plus 2 School campus, where he interacted with students and encouraged sports activities. At the same venue, he reviewed departmental stalls from various sectors, including industries, health, rural development, agriculture, labor, animal husbandry, social welfare, and education.
During this event, he distributed symbolic cheques of Rs. 33.7 lakh to beneficiaries of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Rs. 8.5 lakh to labor scheme beneficiaries, and Rs. 7.5 lakh to Malkhana Vikas Yojana beneficiaries. He also handed over Ayushman Card Scheme cheques, Student Credit Card Scheme certificates, and keys to tricycles for differently-abled individuals, as well as keys to Jeevika Bhawan, Anganwadi Centers, animal sheds, and goat sheds for Jeevika Didis.
Officials presented a detailed plan for widening and strengthening a 14.90 km road from Murli Chowk (SH 58) to Vanshgopal Chowk via Shri Krishna Tola and Polytechnic. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for quality construction to ensure smooth transportation.
He also reviewed the proposed construction of a milk chilling plant in Gram Panchayat Bhadoul-Budhma, where officials briefed him on the project’s details through a presentation.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, Rural Works Minister Ashok Choudhary, MP Dinesh Chandra Yadav, Deputy Speaker of Bihar Legislative Assembly Narendra Narayan Yadav, MLA Niranjan Kumar Mehta, Legislative Councilor Lalan Sarraf, Bihar State Child Rights Protection Commission Chairman Amardeep, and several senior officials, including Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar, Development Commissioner Pratyaya Amrit, and District Magistrate of Madhepura Taranjot Singh, were present during the event.
