Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Bird Aviary at Rajgir Zoo Safari, Calls for Better Wildlife Care

Rajgir / Patna : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar today inaugurated a newly constructed bird aviary at Rajgir Zoo Safari in Nalanda district, emphasizing the need for improved care and facilities for wild animals.
After cutting the ribbon, CM Nitish toured the aviary, where officials briefed him on its design and purpose. The facility, spanning approximately one acre, has been built to provide birds with a natural habitat, complete with trees, water sources, and open spaces. It houses a variety of native and exotic bird species, offering visitors—particularly children—an opportunity to learn about avian life and conservation.
Expressing his delight, the Chief Minister said, “It is a matter of great happiness that Rajgir now has a dedicated space for birds to thrive. This aviary will not only serve as a shelter for them but also help raise awareness about bird conservation.”
Rajgir Zoo Safari, which was inaugurated by Nitish Kumar in 2021, is home to five key species—tigers, lions, leopards, bears, and deer—and has since become a major attraction in the region. Following his visit to the aviary, the CM inspected the zoo’s wildlife hospital and received updates on the treatment of animals. He observed two cubs playing and stressed the importance of ensuring their well-being, instructing officials to enhance care standards.
Several senior government officials and public representatives, including Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Environment Minister Dr. Sunil Kumar, and multiple MPs and MLAs, were present at the event.
